artist statement
Art is a mirror, a labyrinth, a journey, a liberation. My work is figurative and symbolic by nature. The oneiric dyes my paintings, as well as the different tones of light. I work on canvas using acrylic and oil.
At certain moments I work on the human figure, attracted by its shapes and lines. I place it in an emotional context where it interacts in unexpected ways. I find that the body is a propitious space for reflection vis a vis sensuality, politics and the spirit.
I also traverse distance, depth and space, seeking freedom on the horizon. I appeal to my delivery through the clouds and hot air balloons swayed by the wind.
From masks to revelations, from the underground to the skies; each painting is a process of transformation which invites the viewer to navigate his/her own worlds.
